Cupcake Lingerie is a new lingerie brand. Its designs are fresh, fun and girlie. Fun prints and fabrics are combined to create ranges of collectable lingerie.
The lingerie aims to be increasingly environmentally and ethically sound. Where possible it will be made of environmentally friendly materials and will avoid sweat shop labour. Where this is not possible Cupcake Lingerie will strive to introduce suppliers of environmentally and ethically sound components to the industry. Each purchase will be complemented by a Cupcake Lingerie Reusable Bag. If Cupcake Lingerie grows successfully a fair-trade sewing facility and combined orphanage will be established in Africa or India.
Emma Amies the founder of Cupcake Lingerie is currently completing a degree in lingerie design – Contour Fashion – at De Montfort University, Leicester in the UK. This course is the world’s only lingerie design degree and has an international reputation for producing world class graduates. Emma is also a qualified corsetiere having studied for a City and Guilds in Corsetry at Wiltshire College. She has displayed lingerie on the catwalk in Leicester and at The Harrogate Lingerie Show. Emma has previously worked as a Town Planner, most recently designing windfarms, for a green electricity company. She is widely travelled but is equally at home on her organic allotment.
